HITACHI, LTD., completed the new series double effect absorption chiller which
employs newly developed multistage absorption cycle. In addition to the features of existing machines, such
as reduced pressure of high-temperature generator, the new chiller operates at cooling water inlet and outlet
temperature of 32ºC and 40ºC, respectively.
For this series, many types with different capacity (600 to 2,500 RT) are prepared to meet the diversified
needs of district heating and cooling. |

| 1. Reduce in Power Requirement of Cooling Water Pump and Installation
Space of Cooling Tower by Increasing Cooling Water Outlet Temperature and Reducing Cooling Water
Flow Rate. |

| -Increased in cooling water outlet temperature to 40ºC (compared with conventional
machines of Hitachi operating at cooling water temperatures 32ºC to 38ºC) and reduce in
cooling flow rate by 25% means 25% reduction in power requirement for cooling water pump and employment
of one size smaller cooling water pipes. |
| 2. Increased in Part Load Efficiency |

| -A range of refrigerating capacity from 100% to 30%, at specific steam consumption of
4.3 kg/RT or less (cooling water temperature: 32ºC) makes higher efficiency operation possible
even in seasons of lower cooling water inlet temperature. |
| 3. Compact Machine Requiring 25% Less Installation Space (Compared
with Conventional Machine of HITACHI) |

| -Installation space is reduced by 25% by optimizing the layout of the passage of vaporized
refrigerant, employing high-performance heat exchanger tube, restructuring the machine and using the
advantages of parallel flow. (2,000 RT class machines). |
| 4. Increased Reliability by the Employment of Low Concentration
Cycle |

| -In corrosion environment, the new machine can operate at high level of reliability for
a long time by employing low-concentration absorbent cycle. |
| 5. Improved Operational Stability by Accurate Control of Cooling
Water Outlet Temperature (1,200 to 2,500 RT) |
